Liya Rong
Assistant President, Chongqing University

Professor Liya Rong is the Assistant President and Special Assistant to the President of Chongqing University. She has also taught at the University of Michigan Law School, Peking University, the Beijing National Accounting Institute, and Tsinghua University. She is a scholar of corporate tax law and international tax law, and the author of “Tax Competition in Developed and Developing Countries: The Case of China.” Professor Rong holds a law degree from the China University of Political Sciences and Law; M.P.A., I.T.P. (international taxation) from Harvard, where she was the publisher of the Harvard China Review; and an LL.M. and S.J.D. from the University of Michigan, where she served as the deputy director of the Michigan Tsinghua Program.


Ben Heineman
Former General Counsel, General Electric

Ben W. Heineman, Jr. was GE’s Senior Vice President-General Counsel for GE from 1987-2003, and then Senior Vice President for Law and Public Affairs from 2004 until his retirement at the end of 2005. He is currently Distinguished Senior Fellow at Harvard Law School’s Program on the Legal Profession, Senior Fellow at Harvard Law School’s Program on Corporate Governance, Senior Fellow at the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government and Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School. A Rhodes Scholar, editor-in-chief of the Yale Law Journal and law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart, Mr. Heineman was assistant secretary for policy at the Department of Health, Education and Welfare and practiced public interest law and constitutional law prior to his service at GE. His book, High Performance with High Integrity, was published in June, 2008 by the Harvard Business Press.

He is a recipient of the American Lawyer’s Lifetime Achievement Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award of Board Member Magazine. He was named one of America’s 100 most influential lawyers by the National Law Journal , and was named one of the 100 most influential people in corporate governance by the National Association of Corporate Directors. He serves on the boards of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, the Center for Strategic and International Studies, Transparency International-USA, and the Committee For Economic Development. He is a graduate of Harvard College, Oxford University, and Yale Law School (JD).


Dr. Yoshiyuki Sankai
CEO and Founder, Cyberdyne

Dr. Sankai received his Ph.D. degree in engineering from University of Tsukuba, Japan in 1987. He has developed from Japan Society for the Promotion of Science Research Fellow, to Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and a Professor at the Institute of Systems & Engineering, University of Tsukuba. Also Dr. Sankai is a Visiting Professor at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, the United States.

He has been the President of Japan Society of Embolus Detection & Treatment, an Executive Board Member of the International Journal of the Robotics Society of Japan (RSJ), the Chairman and a member of the Awards Committee of the RSJ, also an executive editor of Vascular Lab.

He is currently a Professor of the Graduate School of Systems and Information Engineering, University of Tsukuba, the Director of Center for Cybernics Research, University of Tsukuba, the President/CEO of CYBERDYNE Inc. and the Leader of “FIRST” (Funding Program for World Leading Innovative R&D on Science and Technology, funded by the Cabinet office of Japan) on Cybernics.

Professor Sankai won the World Technology Award (2005), the METI (Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan) Minister Award (2007), the 21st century Invention Award from Japan Institute of Invention and Innovation (2009), InnoRobo Capek Award (2012), and many others.

Mark Lev
Managing Director, Fenway Sports Management

Mark Lev is the Managing Director of Fenway Sports Marketing, and has been instrumental in helping the company develop and maintain an impressive client roster, including Boston College Athletics, the Deutsche Bank Championship, Dunkin’ Donuts, and JetBlue Airways. In 2011, FSM entered into a strategic business partnership with LRMR Marketing & Branding and its principals, NBA Star LeBron James and his business partner Maverick Carter. Lev played a key role in consummating the innovative agreement, which aligns FSM’s sales and business development efforts, LRMR’s marketing expertise and one of the world’s most recognizable athletes, while granting FSM the exclusive right to secure global marketing and sponsorship opportunities for James. Lev recently facilitated a global partnership deal which brings together Dunkin’ Brands, the parent company of two of the world’s most well known brands – Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin- Robbins — and the eight-time NBA All-Star and two-time league MVP. The partnership supports Dunkin Brands’ continued growth in select international markets including India, China, Taiwan and South Korea. Mark worked for six years as Executive Vice President at ANC Sports and began his sports marketing career with the Boston Celtics, where he spent fourteen years developing a wide range of marketing initiatives and oversaw corporate sponsorship sales. During his tenure with the Celtics he also served as Executive Director of the Red Auerbach Youth Foundation.
