Digger Chen’s practice focuses on patent prosecution and patent litigation in the areas of electronics, mechanics, biology, chemistry and medicine.  His practice also includes copyright and trademark disputes.

A frequent traveler to Asia, Dr. Chen has in-depth experience as a liaison for institutional and individual clients in strategic counseling, patent portfolio development and management, intellectual property rights and other legal matters involving inbound and outbound investment between China and the United States. His clients include companies in telecommunications, computer sciences, pharmaceuticals, medicine, oil refinery and consumer products. 

Before his legal career, he was a senior scientist and inventor in the research and development divisions of Merck & Co. and GlaxoSmithKline pharmaceuticals, where he conducted drug discovery research targeting cancer and cardiovascular diseases and published numerous articles in leading scientific journals.

Mr. Chen received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Microbiology and Water Pollution Control from Huazhou University of Science and Technology, M.S. in Pharmacology from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law.
