DescriptionPlease be advised that Xiang Junbo, Chairman of the Agricultural Bank of China, Ltd., has canceled his trip to America due to health reasons. Li Shiqin, Head of Financial Institutions of the International Department, will deliver the planned keynote speech on behalf of Chairman Xiang. Chairman Xiang's speech will focus on five main points: (i) the current state of banking in China; (ii) the Bank's strategy, especially in regards to financing rural development; (iii) his view on the global financial crisis; (iv) future rules for Chinese banks regarding their operations in global financial markets; and (v) how Chinese banks can work with global banks to help work towards a resolution of the global financial crisis. SpeakersXiang JunboChairman, Agricultural Bank of China, Ltd.Xiang Junbo is an expert, both professionally and academically, in banking, finance and auditing in China and in the international sphere. From June 2007, Xiang has been the Chairman of the Agricultural Bank of China, one of China's "Big Four" banks. He is at the helm of the bank at a pivotal time in its history, with its initial public offering of shares expected in the near future. Through August 2005, Xiang was a Deputy Governor at the People's Bank of China and President of the PBOC Shanghai Head Office. He also has extensive experience in auditing and risk control, having overseen China's auditing regime at the National Audit Office of China, where he was Deputy Auditor General through 2002 and held various other positions since 1996. Xiang was also the Deputy Principal at Nanjing Audit University in 1993. He holds a Ph.D in Laws from the prestigious Peking University, a Master in Economics from Nankai University and a Bachelor in Finance from Renmin University of China. Li ShiqinHead of Financial Institutions, International Department, Agricultural Bank of Chairman, Ltd.Ms. Li Shiqin has been with Agricultural Bank of China ("ABC") Head Office in Beijing since July 1988 when she obtained her MBA from Zheng Zhou University. Since April 2004, Ms. Li has held the position of Head of Financial Institutions in the International Department of ABC. Prior to that she was Deputy Head of Financial Institutions in the International Department from December 2002 to March 2004, Regional Manager (Europe) of Financial Institutions from November 2001 to December 2002, Senior Manager of Foreign Exchange Supervision from January 1997 to November 2001, and Project Manager of the World Bank Division from August 1992 to December 1996. Ms. Li has extensive experience in coordinating international finance projects and supervising the internal operations of one of China's "Big Four" banks.
