As a fast-growing and developing region, Asia encompasses some of world's most exciting areas for entrepreneurship. What are the most exciting industries to be in for young entrepreneurs? How would this change in light of the current economic downturn? What are the critical success factors in building and sustaining a successful enterprise revolving around Asia? How do these key elements differ across countries and cultures? The entrepreneurship panel invites potential entrepreneurs and students to engage in a dialogue with experienced Asia-based entrepreneurs in biotech, internet, advertising and media & entertainment, where panelists will share with the audience their success stories as well as key start-up lessons.

As a well-regarded talent agent and one of the most experienced experts in media management and advertising in China, Cynthia concurrently holds an adjunct professorship in Media Management at the Beijing Film Institute. She is the author of the several popular novels including "Lover and Love Rival", and is the director of several movies including "Dam! You Are Single". In 2006, she was given the Outstanding Women in Business Award recognizing her accomplishments. Cynthia holds an MBA degree in Human Resource Management from Honolulu University. Mark (Haoyong) YangFounder & CEO, Ganji.comMark Yang is the founder and CEO of Ganji.com, the biggest online classifieds site in China co-invested by Google. Before starting Ganji, Mark worked in Silicon Valley for various technology companies such as Juniper Networks and was also the co-founder of Triomphe Networks. Mark is the President and Chairman of Google China join venture. Mark graduated from Yale University with a Master Degree in Comupter Science and University of Science and Technology with Master Degree in Engineering. Masa FujiwaraPresident & CEO, Chiome Bioscience Inc.Masa Fujiwara has wide experiences in science and business in pharmaceutical industry in Japan. Masa Fujiwara also has consulting and management skills through his career. From February 2005, Masa Fujiwara has been the President & CEO of the Chiome Bioscience Inc. From July 2003 to February 2005, Fujiwara was a Director, Data Management Dept., in Quintiles Transnational Japan K.K., and from December 2000 to June 2003, as Senior Consultant, IBM Business Consulting Service in the Pharma Industry Group. From April 1987 to November 2000, Masa Fujiwara worked at Chugai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. Masa Fujiwara was served as a key person in various collaborations with US venture companies and research institutions, as Manager in Chugai Pharma USA and Manager Business Development in Chugai Biopharmaceuticals Inc. Fujiwara graduated University of Tokyo, Agriculture Faculty, Master Course in D.V.M. Prof. William C. Kirby (Moderator)Spangler Family Professor of Business Administration, Harvard Business SchoolWilliam C. Kirby is the Spangler Family Professor of Business Administration at the Harvard Business School and T. M. Chang Professor of China Studies at Harvard University. He is a Harvard University Distinguished Service Professor. He serves as Director of the Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies and Chairman of the Harvard China Fund. A historian of modern China, Professor Kirby's work examines China's business, economic, and political development in an international context. He has written on the evolution of modern Chinese business (state-owned and private); Chinese corporate law and company structure; the history of freedom in China; China's environmental challenges; relations across the Taiwan Strait; and China's relations with Europe and America. His current projects include case studies of contemporary Chinese businesses and a comparative study of higher education in China and the United States. He is Honorary Visiting Professor at Peking University, Nanjing University, Chongqing University, and Fudan University. Professor Kirby holds degrees from Dartmouth College, Harvard University, and (Dr. Phil. HonorisCausa) the Free University of Berlin. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
